As Sam Pilgrim and Martyn Ashton continue to lead the way with their impressive riding for Ashton Diamondback - they have now also added Blake Samson to help them in their attempt for world domination.

Blake shows us his new ride and answers some quick questions for us..

Congrats on your new signing to Team Ashton Diamondback Blake - you stoked about this?
Thanks buddy, I am so stoked to be on the Ashton Diamondback team for 2010. I am looking forward to working with Martyn Ashton and Sam Pilgrim and not to mention all the fun we are going to have riding together on the Animal Relentless Bike tour.

How's the new ride - can you tell us about your bike and what parts you're running on it from other sponsors?
My new Ashton Diamondback ride is so cool, everything from the way it rides, to the lightness of the whole rig. The short back end makes it so easy to throw it around when you are in the air. I am still running DMR parts, like bars, stems, wheels, cranks. Basically all my running gear is down to DMR. I am also running the new Fox 831's, which are so sick. They are super light weight, strong and so plush. I just love the new lock out thing on them.

New ride is pretty!

Will you be on the relentless tour with Sam Pilgrim and Martin Ashton this year full time and what else will you be doing in 2010?
Yeah, for 2010 I am going to be doing a number of events around Europe and in the UK. My first comp is in Vienna and then straight onto Switzerland for a slope style comp. It's a busy start for me. But apart from all the events, demo's and shows, I want to ride as much UK trails with mates and surf a bit more than I did last year. Because you know how cold the waters are in winter on our shores. You won't catch me swimming in the sea at Christmas.

Was it hard to leave your long time sponsor DMR - anything you wanna say to these boys?
It was a shame to leave DMR, it was sad really, they have done a lot for me in the past and I will never forget that. I would like to say, Thank you very much for what you have done and given me. If it wasn't for your help, I most likely would not have got this far. So thanks again. (I haven't left you yet!)

What are you most looking forward to this year on board your new steed?
I am looking at doing very well in comps and to ride as hard as ever. Just ride more...

Tell us 3 things about yourself we wouldn't probably know - but 1 of them has to be a lie.
-I was born Zimbabwe (Africa). Lived over there till I was 15 and then moved over to the UK.
-When I was in Zimbabwe I did have a pet bird, but it wasn't any bird. It was a Vulture.
-When I was a young dude of 12 years, I stole my dad's MX bike and rode it around the farm on the back wheel through my mum's new flowers.

Seriously this is going insane...heh, I guess that providing poeple with so many different anodized components was not enough for some companies. We are starting to have multiple colours on a single component even such small and simple as a hub. What's next 3 colour disc bolts?! each of six in a different set of colours? Big Grin iyooo iyooo be be be beeeee

I'm uneducated with this - why is their team called 'Ashton Diamondback'? Is it not in direct association with Diamondback or something?

its a team of riders who are sponsered by Diamondback, the Ashton part comes from the name of the guy who formed the team, Martyn Ashton
