Ask him if its true that he was training as an electrician or a plummer and his boss said "you dont want to do this Steve, you want to try racing DH!"

Probs just a myth, but id love to test that out to see if its true Razz tup

Why are you so competitive? Surely the best thing about riding bikes, is just being able to have a good time with your friends, not purely focusing on who's the fastest.

flag david-hill (Mar 27, 2010 at 15:21)
@OliScale; not to sound harsh, but this is the world champ and one of the fastest dh riders ever. you can't do that without being competitive. thats like saying to a world champion runner, why are you so competitive? well, they would answer, because if i wasn't, I wouldn't be world champion now would I? sorry, it just seemed like a bit of a silly question to ask a pro lol Smile

flag riggadon (Mar 26, 2010 at 22:13)
well the obvious one is "can i have your bike since you can just get another one whenever for free?"

then there are the "normal" ones like "who were your inspirations as a child that catapulted you into the world of mountain biking?"

and the annoying i-should-buy-some-magnesium-levers-for-my-brakes-to-save-12-grams kids ones like, "when should i run my minion dhf 3c, in loamy or wet/muddy conditions in off camber root sections or vice versa?"

and the interesting ones like "do you still get to hang out with provided hot chicks at events even though youre not sponsored by monster/rockstar like sam/cam?"

and then theres the ones that all the pro wannabes who will never have the resources/natural athletic ability/ luck to ever become pro will ask, like "how did you become pro" (very thoughtful eh)and dull expected questions like such

the only one i would want to ask is "what will you do after your career is over(hopefully not soon) that will supply you with enough money to live comfortably since pro DHing isnt exactly a fountain of money?"

any high end marks (mongoose, commencal, santa cruz, mondraker, giant etc etc) will be able to help out a pro rider getting a bike they want with custom geo and sizing

however its only the big brands what can pay big bucks for riders, and santa cruz would of paid him the most so he went for it

its the rider not the bike at that level

Peaty's house is pretty nice actually. A big house isn't something everybody wants. Id sure as hell rather have a cosy nice house like his than an oversized mansion that has too many rooms for me to use.

And just to clarify - Peaty sold Royal to Triple 7 for a sum between £2m-£6m; Triple 7 also own 661 which is their main 'In Shop' name and the one they concentrate most on.

Companies this big dont buy in the hundred thousands, they buy in millions and tens of millions.
